Economic Crime

“Almost half (49%) of all companies in Germany suffer damage through embezzlement, corruption, product piracy or other forms of economic crime“. 43% of companies worldwide  reported to have suffered at least one case within the last two years (2005-2007), in some regions it was every second company. In Germany, the number of affected companies remained with 49% at an unchanging high level based on a study of 2005 (46%).  The total damage caused to German companies by revealed offences alone is projected to reach an amount of over six billion euros a year.”
From “Wirtschaftskriminalität 2007“ (Economic Crime 2007), International and German findings, a study by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Martin Luther University, Halle
